Parish Assessment and Renewal (PAR)
PAR is an assessment
and renewal process that begins with a survey of attitudes and a
leadership self-study. The par process is on-going because we are
challenged to assess and constantly renew our church.
The leadership structure of Immaculate Conception Parish Community
consists of four major elements:
- The management team made up of the Pastor, the Director of
Administration and the Director of Volunteers.
- The Parish Staff, including the Clergy and the Administrative
and Pastoral Staffs.
- The Pastoral Council.
- The five Commissions.
The five commissions are Administration, Community
Life, Formation, Outreach and
Worship.
Members of the Pastoral Council and Commissions freely accept the
call to serve as leaders of our faith community. They share this
privilege and responsibility with the Pastor and Staff of this Parish
community. Through their Baptismal call they share the
responsibility to live the Gospel message and accept the challenge to
make this a priority for themselves and for the larger parish community.
Pastoral Council
The Pastoral Council is chosen to recommendation by other members of
this faith community and confirmed by the Holy Spirit. They
acknowledge their unique role as representatives of the many voices of
the people of this parish. To effectively function in this role
they realize the need to come prepared to all meetings of the Pastoral
Council and Commissions, to share honestly, accurately, and freely, with
a welcoming spirit. The Pastoral Council is composed of the
Pastor, Parish Administrator, and two representatives from each
commission.
Community Life Ministry
This commission has the goal of building a welcoming communal spirit
and a deeper sense of Christian community for all ages and interest
groups in the parish. The scope of the commission includes
hospitality, parish organizations, community-building events, and the
stewardship of time and talents.
Formation Ministries
The role of this commission is to provide planning, direction, and
evaluation for parish formation and education programs.
Outreach
This commission assesses the needs and coordinates the ministries of
pastoral care, social services, peace and justice, and evangelization.
Its scope includes outreach to both the parish membership and the larger
community, both in the neighborhood and beyond.
Worship Ministries
This commission gives direction to the liturgical life of the parish,
as well as fostering the spiritual growth of all parishioners.
